An ARM is an acronym for Advanced RISC Machine and it is 32-bit reduce instructions set computer (RISC) microcontroller. The ARM is a family of the microcontroller developed by the different manufacturers such as ST Microelectronics, Motorola and so on. The ARM Microcontroller architecture comes with a few different versions such as ARMv1, ARMv2 etc and each one has its own advantages and disadvantages. By combining ARM Microprocessor with RAM, ROM and other peripherals in one single chip, we get an ARM microcontroller, for example, LPC2148.
