AVR (Advanced Virtual RISC) is a microcontroller architecture which is broadly available in three categories, namely TinyAVR, MegaAVR, XMegaAVR. They mainly aim at offering a distinct combination of flexible design, power efficiency and performance. They are based upon the widely accepted Code Architecture for C and Assembly programming. AVR microcontrollers are avail great computing performance and power efficiency. They are available in totally different packages, come designed for through-hole mounting and a few surface mount. Most of the people begin with a DIL (Dual in Line) 28-pin chip for AVRs just like the ATmega328 or the 40-pin ATmega16 or Atmega32.
